I work as a Correctional Sergeant at the DRDC in Denver. I’m very active in our union because it’s the only way we can make corrections jobs safer and more sustainable. Given our staffing crisis, winning shift differentials–or more pay–for weekend work has been huge for us, making it easier for us to cope with endless double shifts and the toll those take on our lives and our families.
