Luke Stanley is a union steward at Colorado School of Mines, the COWINS District 4 Chair for JeffCo, and is running for the PERA Trustee Board. We’re supporting Luke because he believes state workers like us who pay into this system deserve a stronger voice, clearer answers, and better results.
Luke is a blue-collar union worker. He believes in hard work, straight talk, and accountability. He knows what it means to show up every day, put in the hours, and trust that the retirement benefits we’re earning will be there when we need them.

PERA belongs to its members (US!); not to consultants, not to administrators, not to insiders, because we’re the ones paying into it!
More transparency. More efficiency. More value for members.
Members deserve clear, honest communication about:
No more vague language or hard-to-find reports. If we are funding the system, we should be able to clearly see how it’s being managed.
Every dollar spent on overhead is a dollar not compounding for our retirement. I will fight for:
Union members expect efficiency in our workplace. We should demand it from our pension system too.
PERA needs to improve how it communicates changes, projections, and risks. Members shouldn’t feel surprised or confused about policy shifts that affect their future. I will advocate for:
I’m not a career politician. I’m not a financial insider. I’m a union worker and a husband to a public-school teacher who pays into PERA every paycheck as well. I understand the importance of stability, predictability, and protecting what we’ve paid into and earned.
PERA is a promise. And promises matter.

If elected, I will ask tough questions, demand clear answers, focus on long-term stability, and put members first in every decision.
This role isn’t about politics. It’s about stewardship. It’s about protecting retirement security for teachers, state workers, first responders, and all public employees who count on this system.
Working people built this fund. It should work for working people.
I would be honored to earn your vote and to serve with integrity, transparency, and accountability.
