I’m not going to sugarcoat this: we are having to fight hard to hold on to the biggest wins in our contract.

On February 14, I emailed you all about the state’s Joint Budget Committee’s public warning that “everything is on the table.” 

And everything is on the table, including our Steps and COLAs (Across the Board increases), because of a $1.2 billion deficit stemming from ballot measures, tax credits, and the artificial constraints imposed by TABOR.

So far, almost 600 of you have emailed JBC members to demand they fund our contract the way we bargained it. It’s not too late to add your voice. 

The next step is speaking with the legislators who will decide if we can keep the pay increases and other wins we bargained for, face-to-face, on Lobby Day, March 19.

Even if you’ve never lobbied at the Capitol, we want you there and will give you the training you need. And if you’d have to travel 50 miles or more to get here, register before March 7 and we’ll cover your hotel.
