There’s a lot to hope for in these elections: if they go well, we’ll elect allies to our legislature and congress, generate more revenue for state services and our contract, AND see our income taxes reduced.

These wins are all very possible, which is why we’re seeing so much dark money being poured into the candidates who don’t value public service, and into the ballot measures that would stop tax reform.

But that’s where we come in: we have strength in numbers. If the more than 27,000 state employees vote for the candidates and ballot measures that are on our side, and get their friends, family and neighbors to do the same, we will win.

So start by reading and sharing our voter guide and voting for the candidates we’ve endorsed because they will stand up for us. That’s going to be critical as we head into a legislative session with an anticipated $1.6 billion deficit.

Our voter guide also gives you the information you need about the ballot measures that will help, or hurt us.

This year’s ballot is the longest in our state’s history because the ultra rich are trying to buy our votes.

For example, millions of dollars are being spent to try to defeat Amendment 87–that proposes a Graduated Income Tax that would raise taxes on the top 3%, lower them for the rest of us, and help fix our state budget crisis.

Billionaires opposed to a fair tax system are trying to stop that with Proposition 136: proposing a flat tax of 4.4%, this would cancel out your vote for Amendment 87, maintain the status quo and perpetuate our budget crisis.

So vote YES on Amendment 87, and NO on Proposition 136, because that’s how we are going to start to fix the budget crisis so we can fund the contract we have now, and the contract we’ll be negotiating in 2027!

And remember to pass on our voter guide to everyone you know so we win in these elections!
